The teeth health must be a priority for each of us. They determine the possibility of eating what one wants, the good functioning of the digestive apparatus, the way of pronouncing words, how confident one is about his/her appearance and many other things one cannot do without.

2.  What happens if I do not take care of my teeth health?

Dental cavities are a frequent problem in this case. If not treated, sometimes they lead to the affection of the dental nerve, where an infection might appear and the consequences are very serious. In these cases the root treatment becomes necessary. Gum diseases are also very often.

Filling top

1.  How many types of fillings are there and what are the differences between them?

There are three types: amalgam fillings, fillings made of composite resins, porcelain inlays and onlays. The old fillings, the amalgam fillings (mix of Mercury and Silver grit) have several disadvantages, which make them less recommendable. The composite resins fillings proved to be very efficient both in the cavities treatment and in the aesthetic teeth improvement by teeth color changing or by of teeth remodeling, if the shape of these teeth had been affected. There are no health risks, they are resistant, durable and affordable.
The porcelain inlays and onlays are the most expensive, and their price is worth it because this material is the most beautiful, resistant and it does not get stained. They prove to be a good investment if an extensive area of the tooth must be covered.

Root Canal top

1.  What does "canal filling" mean?

The canal filling is executed when an infection appears on the dental pulp (nerve, blood vessel, lymphatic vessel), caused by a cavity or by an accident. The symptom of infection is pain and, in the more serious cases - the dental abscess.
The treatment consists of the extirpation of the vascular-nerves fascicle from each dental canal and the filling of canals by using specific means.

As we use modern and efficient anesthetic means, you should never worry about pain, irrespective of the type of intervention.

4.  What will the canal treatment mean for the tooth?

The canal treatment consists of cleaning and enlarging the canal and then sealing this with a special paste or with gutta-percha condensed by means of special techniques.

Pregnancy and Children top

1.  How will the dentist treat me if I am pregnant?

The interventions during pregnancy should rather be avoided. But, in special cases, our doctors will decide if a certain intervention is recommended or not.

2.  Can I get a dental x-ray if I am pregnant?

Even if the dental x-rays have not been dangerous during pregnancy, our doctors do not recommend these, except for the extreme cases. For the safety of the mother and of the fetus, the x-rays and certain treatments should be postponed until the doctor considers there are no risks.

3.  How will the dentist take care of my child?

Children will enjoy all the necessary care and patience, so that they always consider the visit to Dental Progress a pleasant moment.

4.  Can I sit next to my child while he/she is being checked by the doctor?

The experience of the dentists showed that the presence of parents in the dental office is necessary especially when the patients are less than three years old. Being next to their parents, children are more relaxed and the doctor can examine and treat them easier. After this age we recommend that the parents no longer come with their children when these are checked by the doctor, because this way there is a better communication between child and doctor.

Implants top

1.  What are the differences between an implant and a classic dental work?

The dental implant has more advantages than the classic work, one of these being the lack of intervention (polishing) on the nearby healthy teeth.
The first stage of inserting a dental implant is the surgical one and it implies preparing a cavity on the bone level, perfectly shaped for the implant dimension, and in this cavity the implant will be inserted, by screwing it. The dental implant is practically a Titanium screw which has a surface which is chemically and mechanically treated so that the surface which contacts the bone is extended. In the following stage, called osteointegration, which lasts between 3 and 6 months, the osseous cells deposit bone on the implant surface, ensuring stability and maximum resistance over time. Once the implant is osteointegrated, the next step is prosthesing. On this stage a superstructure is mounted on the implant level, which is the correspondent of the polished tooth and which will be further on covered by the porcelain crown. Another important intermediary stage is the formation of the gum around the superstructure mounted on the dental implant, which is executed on the healing prepared teeth. The impression method for a dental work on implants is different from the impression for classic dental works and it is executed with transfer prepared teeth which give the technician details about the exact position of the dental implants on the bone and about the width of the gum around the implant; the technician will also have to simulate in the laboratory the patient’s gum made of a type of rubber which has a resilience similar to the one of the natural gums. The polishing of the superstructure which is mounted on the dental implant is executed ONLY IN THE DENTAL TECHNIQUE LAB, and never in the patient’s mouth because it gets very hot and it might produce necrosis on the cells which are adjacent to the dental implant and this way it might compromise the final result.
The latest procedure in implantology is using the Zirconium dental implant. This has several advantages as compared to the Titanium implant both from the biocompatibility and esthetic point of view, being considered the future implant in dentistry.
The procedure of dental implant insertion is not painful at all, either during of after the operation, and the aesthetic and functional results are excellent.
At Dental Progress, we guarantee that we use the best dental implants and the most modern surgery techniques applied by the best doctors in the dentistry field.
