Filling

1.  How many types of fillings are there and what are the differences between them?

There are three types: amalgam fillings, fillings made of composite resins, porcelain inlays and onlays. The old fillings, the amalgam fillings (mix of Mercury and Silver grit) have several disadvantages, which make them less recommendable. The composite resins fillings proved to be very efficient both in the cavities treatment and in the aesthetic teeth improvement by teeth color changing or by of teeth remodeling, if the shape of these teeth had been affected. There are no health risks, they are resistant, durable and affordable.
The porcelain inlays and onlays are the most expensive, and their price is worth it because this material is the most beautiful, resistant and it does not get stained. They prove to be a good investment if an extensive area of the tooth must be covered.
