The Piezosurgery or the ultrasound surgery represents the most modern current method of surgery. The rotational systems are replaced by special ansae which vibrate at ultrasound frequencies and which manage to cut the bone without heating it and without affecting it. This represents a big advantage for the patient, the chances of suffering swelling or pain being much lower.

This is why after very elaborate surgery interventions our patients feel no discomfort.

At the Dental Progress dental clinic we probably use the most advanced piezosurgery equipment in the world, Satelec, manufactured by Acteon.

The surgical kit of this device may be used for the COLLECTION OF BONE BLOCKS, BONE SPLITTING or EXTERNAL SINUS LIFT (see clinical case 23 or clincial case 24), the most important advantage being that it only cuts the bone. Once it gets to the soft parts the device becomes inoffensive, the risks of accidents being reduced.

The INTRALIFT Kit of the same device represents an ingenious system of INTERNAL SINUS LIFT, maybe the least traumatic in the world as it lifts the membrane of the maxilla sinus by means of air and water bubbles, the pressure on the membrane being even and very smooth. It is probably the only system by which we can increase the bone height starting from below 1mm and reaching up to 13-15 mm in the same sitting (see clinical case 23 or clinical case 24).
