The periodontal disease or the “periodontitis”, as it is known by most of the patients is still considered a non-treatable disease. At Dental Progress the periodontal disease is treatable! According to the seriousness of the periodontal disease, the treatment can be medicamentous or surgical.

If the periodontal bags have a depth lower than 4 mm, generally, the periodontal disease can be treated with medicines by applying medicamentous solutions on the periodontal bags, after a periodontal curettage in closed field was previously done.

If the periodontal bags are very deep the medicamentous treatment is no longer sufficient. This must be doubled by a periodontal surgery intervention (see clinical case 3, clinical case 25 or clinical case 22) consisting in the removal of the gum from the bone, at the affected teeth and the elimination of the granulation teeth, and then the application of regeneration substances, doubled by bone addition in case of big bone defects.
